The curriculum begins with providing the learner with a basic understanding of what cloud computing is and how it has evolved from its early beginnings to what it is today and how it plays a major role in today’s IT world. It goes on to explain various cloud services and cloud deployment models that an organization can use in its cloud strategy. More advanced topics delve deeper into the advantages and disadvantages associated with the different cloud services and cloud deployment models. Also presented are topics that focus on various open-source tools and services, such as containers, Docker, and Kubernetes that are used to support cloud native applications. Further to this, the significance of data security in the cloud covering topics around privacy and compliance are presented and what mechanisms can be used to protect an organization’s cloud environment.
