This curriculum begins by providing the learner with a basic understanding of what IBM Z System Automation (SA z/OS) is and how it can be used in today’s modern enterprise. It then describes the product’s components and key automation concepts. Modules describing automation monitoring and administration tasks performed by operations staff are then discussed in detail. The automation administrator meanwhile is taken through the SA z/OS planning and installation process, which is followed by a workshop where a policy database is created and distributed. More advanced topics relating to: end-to-end automation, CICS, IMS, and Db2 automation implementation are also presented for those organizations investigating automation of those environments. Finally, a module on the types of automation statistics and reports that can be generated, is presented.
